Remanufactured Leica RM2235 Rotary Microtome
Designed for outstanding durability, precision, and comfort, the Remanufactured Leica RM2235 Rotary Microtome is the manual sectioning instrument of choice for clinical histology and histopathology institutions. This Leica rotary microtome combines a patented spring-based force balancing system with an ergonomic one-piece housing, advanced safety features, and precision knife holder adjustment to deliver consistently high-quality sections day after day.
Whether your lab handles routine paraffin sectioning or demanding high-throughput pathology work, the Leica 2235 rotary microtome offers the performance and reliability your team depends on; at remanufactured value.
Key Features
Patented spring-based force balancing system compensates sectioning forces without a counterweight, producing an exceptionally smooth and effortless handwheel rotation for superior sectioning results
Precision specimen orientation with clear zero reference point; calibrated controls allow easy adjustment to an exact zero position indicated by red pins, or a measurable variable on the x/y axis for re-cuts
Lateral knife holder adjustment allows use of the entire blade width without releasing the clamping mechanism; three predefined stop positions (left, center, right) correspond to standard histology cassette width
Two handwheel safety locking mechanisms: one-thumb operation locks the specimen head in the uppermost position for specimen and blade changes; a second mechanism on the microtome base locks the object head in any position
Integrated red finger protection guard on knife holder E uniquely shields the blade edge and can remain in place even during sectioning, providing continuous operator protection
Ergonomically positioned coarse feed wheel located close to the operator for fatigue-free use; mechanical trimming function placed adjacent to the coarse feed wheel eliminates the need to operate the coarse feed wheel during trimming
Spacious magnetized section waste tray reliably collects paraffin debris; held securely in place by magnets yet easily removable for emptying and cleaning
One-piece housing made from specially resistant plastic with no edges where debris can accumulate, minimizing cleaning time
Universal knife holder base compatible with virtually all Leica knife holder systems
Single-handed operation universal cassette clamp for fast, easy specimen loading and removal
Optimized microtome base plate provides maximum rigidity using the latest lightweight materials
Fewer clamping levers provide improved, unencumbered access to the cutting area

Maintenance
Maintenance Notes
Proper maintenance keeps the Tissue-Tek SCA Coverslipper operating reliably and extends the life of key components. Follow the schedule below to minimize downtime and ensure consistent coverslipping quality.
Daily: Empty the waste bottle; clean the slide transfer chute with xylene to prevent residue buildup
Weekly: Inspect slide baskets for wear or stress
Monthly: Lubricate the cutter holder pin; empty the film scrap receiver
As needed: Refill and purge the xylene bottle when solvent is low or bubbles are detected
Every 10 rolls of film (~10,000 slides): Replace the cutter blade, or sooner if film cuts become ragged
End of day: Unthread the film from the instrument to prevent bending during periods of nonuse
